How to Become a QFM Subscriber

Your Path to Joining QFM

The following outlines the steps to becoming a Queensland Fauna Management Subscriber.

1
Maintain SSAA Queensland Membership
All QFM Subscribers must maintain current financial member status of the Sporting Shooters Association of Australia QLD Inc.

There are many benefits in being a member of the SSAA, including being covered by Public Liability Insurance and Personal Injury Insurance whilst undertaking hunting or shooting activities.

If you are not a member of SSAA as yet, you can apply through the SSAA Queensland website.

View Licence & Training Information →
3
Complete the QFM Subscriber Form
Complete a SSAA Qld QFM Subscriber form and return it to the address on the form, following the payment details provided.

Go to Subscriber Forms →
4
Complete the Theory Accreditation Course
Complete and pass the theory accreditation course. These are run throughout the state at different centres.

Contact your local SSAA Qld QFM coordinator through the Contacts page or check the Calendar for upcoming accreditation activities.

Non-shooting participation
QFM also has a number of people who join as non-shooting members in order to go to some of the beautiful properties where QFM has projects.

5
Complete Practical Marksmanship Accreditation
In order to shoot on any project, QFM Subscribers also need to pass the practical marksmanship accreditation.

You can complete this at any time in the process — you do not need to wait until your theory accreditation course to complete your practical marksmanship accreditation.
6
Attend Training & Get Involved
We recommend that you make every effort to attend training days in your region, or any region that you are able to attend, so that the regional coordinator and team leaders can get to know you and you can get to know your fellow QFM Subscribers.

At times, QFM also runs working bees on some project properties to improve access or accommodation.
